Corner View: Mother

As the years go by I watch the role of my mom change, but the memories of once this strong woman stays young within my heart.

The older my mom gets, I realize she doesn’t need a gift I saved my allowance for as a child or the big fancy wrapped gift as I grew older, she simple wants the gift of time. Our day will be spent together and hopefully if the weather holds out a stop to the nursery to pick out flowers and plant them in a garden container for her patio to be enjoyed throughout the summer.

Stop by and visit Francesca's corner to see other links on this week's topic, mother.

An early warm wish to all of my friends wither you have children, a mother to many, or a mom to four legged fur babies and to my special friends whose hearts are filled with wonderful memories of your mom, the best Mother’s Day.

 Love,
Joyce

A beautiful post Joyce! We will be BBQing for my Mom this Sunday. She loves a grilled meal. She's 91 and my best girlfriend. I love her so.
Happy Mother's Day to your Mom, and I hope the weather holds out for planting flowers for her.

Sweet post Joyce. A lovely container of flowers on the patio is a great idea and low maintenance too. Very thoughtful.

My mom is in Aruba. This is the last week of her 3 week getaway. She will return home on Sunday. Her gift already is there, a lovely book of professional photographs which I had taken of Halle last month.

She also mentioned she was thinking of coming up to Anchorage in July for my 60th... We shall see!! xoxo

This is such an excellent thought. My mom is no longer alive and I realize each day how very important those "moments" are/were.

I think as a mother you feel very happy when you get of the younger children tinkered or purchased. But later, as a mother you're very lucky if you can spend time with older children or adult.

This is a very nice photo, Joyce!

Joyce,
Lovely. My Mom (85) is still going strong, raised 7 children, loves her grandchildren, enjoys life and loves knowing that when it is her time to leave her corner that she will leave the earth a better place. She has an amazing constitution and loves to laugh.

Love the quote! We used to do that for my mom when we lived near by and she loved it. Now she gets a gift card to her favorite store....she loves that too!

Time is the best gift we can give to our mothers. My mom lives far away and the older I get the more I miss her but I always make sure I tell her I love her every time we speak on the phone.

Thank you Joyce for your comment on my blog. There is a reason behind my constant tiredness and I've revealed it today in my C View. Thank you so much for this week theme! It was not only an opportunity for me to get back to Corner View, I could also share my wonderful news.

Hugs and kisses,
Kasia

Time is indeed the best gift for our mums and for ourselves. Especially if it is spent sharing a slice of pizza!

Time stretches a long way if there's so much love in it.

Beautiful picture.

Beautiful post Joyce. It's so true what you write about our roles changing with time - something I often think about, and hope to be able to do gracefully.

okay, this is weird.
when i saw the theme coming up, i thought of images i shot of my mum's hands, a good year ago. fragile photos i quite cherished. what do you know? they've been swalloped up in the notebook breakdown, which reminded me of shooting mum's hands again {next sunday, as a matter of fact}.

now i come here, and what do i find? these weathered hands! on your theme! i love serendipity.

and thanks for the best wishes! yes! it's mother's day. on sunday... you too! happy mothering day to bo!

This is very intense. As I get older by a year today and read this, not having the person who raised me like a mother, in my life anymore... I'm hit in a positive but emotional way by the beauty of your post. A beautiful photo too. Many happy loving years to your Mom.
and ps : I'm sorry because I didn't associate your blog to your icon on some other network/social sites, but I got it today, never too late they say !
