Corner View: Joy

Many things bring me great joy, one is finding natures love at my feet.

With in a matter of days, "joy" will be in the air as Christmas will soon be here.

I saw this JOY project on Pinterest and liked the zinc look. Since, I already had the large cardboard letters, all I needed was the paint. Once I had Gary on the ladder, I realized I needed more zinc. Not a good time to tell him this, while he is balancing himself and the large letters. Oh, well there is always next year to add a bit more pearl paint over the black. In the meantime I will add a few fresh greens to it and all will be good.

To see more "Joy" visit Francesca's corner. Thank you, Karyn for a great topic this week!

I hope your day is a joyful one!
Hugs,
Joyce

From Orange To Green

Now that Thanksgiving is over, I quickly changed gears by replacing the pumpkins with greens and treetops. Most of our Christmas decorations and tree is up (thanks to Gary and Zach), except for the fresh garland indoors. I promised I wouldn't turn the lights till December 1. Shh... just don't tell Gary, I have been listening to Christmas music in the car for the last couple of weeks.  I am adding a bit of vintage and glitz this year, so I started working on a couple of Christmas projects over the weekend.

I purchased these vases/bottles from West Elm, over the summer. I decided to use them as part of my Christmas decorations for the mantle. To give the bottles a bit of vintage touch, I tea stained the tags and stamped each tag with my favorite words for this time of year. I added one of my (many) favorite ribbons, some vintage tinsel and ornaments I had on hand. I will place a small battery votive candle behind the bottles to give a soft glow. I promist to show you the finished mantle, so stay tune.

We even managed to get Mr. Bojangles to sit for his Christmas card photo. He started off a bit bashful and at the end he was a ham for the camera. Don't worry I didn't break my promise this was the only time I had the tree lights on.

Have a golden one!

Joyce

I wish we could put up some of the Christmas spirit in jars and open a jar of it every month.

Corner View: A Different Corner

I can’t say I have a different corner, just a busy one lately, but most of all a special one.  Special because of YOU! I don’t say it enough how grateful I am for your friendships, your visits here, the sweet comments, emails, texts, cards etc.  With Thanksgiving being tomorrow and as I count my blessings I will say a special prayer for the golden threads of friendships I have developed through this little corner of mine. Thank you!

Warm wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

Shades Of The Season

Is it just me or is the time flying by? I can't believe another week is gone and next week is Thanksgiving.  I know we haven't celebrated Thanksgiving, but on my way home from work last night, I went to pick up a my little Christmas tree tops for the outdoor planters (I'm glad I did they were just about gone). Thanks to Gregg I got them at a great price, so I bought 3!

As we jump into the weekend, I thought I would share some of the photos from our trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Wishing you a golden weekend!

Corner View: Where Has The Time Gone?

It seems like yesterday the trees on this path were full and green

Now the leaves have fallen

And soon the trees will be covered in snow, coming full circle.

Apples..

What do you do with a bag of apples? Make apple sauce! Apples and Pork chops, was the phrase I heard all day, from my witty husband, while I made the apple sauce. It is my favorite Fall treat, that always brings fond memories of growing up.

I tried a new recipe from HERE. It filled the house with scents of Autumn and was delicious! Do you have a favorite apple sauce recipe?

We are taking a little trip for a few days, so I will be back in a few days.

Have a golden day!
Hugs,
Joyce

Corner View: Dream

Dreams are good, they give us hope and wishes for the future. I shared a couple of weeks ago HERE about a childhood dream.

Today, I am living one of my biggest dreams that came true. I use to dream and wish someday I would be married to a wonderful man, have a house full of children and a dog. I'm happy to say most of my dream came true! God could not have picked a better man for me and guided the best pups to our door. I married the man of my dreams, he is my heart and soul, my friend, he makes me feel safe and provides for me (us). He, also helped make the other part of the dream come true, because he shares the same love for dogs as I do. This dream came true three times, first with our previous pups, Buddy and Kelly and now Mr. Bojangles. What more could a girl ask for? I hope I never wake up from this dream and it will last a lifetime!
To see more dreams visit Francesca’s corner. Thank you Tzivia for this week’s topic!!

Enjoy the moment!
