Corner View: Letter "M"

I had a list of things to use for the letter "m", but decided to go with "M" for Mickey. No, not Mickey Mouse, just Mickey.

I fell in love with this little guy instantly. As Gary would say, what dog do I not fall in love with. He is a small dog with big personality! I took some photos of Mickey last week and in return he gave me a lot of puppy loving. He is a rescue from HERE and currently staying with his foster parents.

He actually is from the same rescue group our Mr. Bojangles came from, so a double heart warming for me. It was cute to watch him take all the toys out of the basket and scatter them throughout the house.

Mickey is going to make someone very happy when he finds his home. I just know it.

Thank you Valerie for this week's topic! To visit "m"ore topics on "m" stop by Francesca's corner.

Have a golden day, my friends!
Hugs,
Joyce

Tuesday

I hope everyone had a nice long weekend.

I think it is safe to say, the blog comment issues has been fixed. I turned on my computer this morning and was able to leave comments. Maybe it wasn't a bad thing to walk away from the computer a bit, because I FINALLy finished painting my office and planted the last of the planters.

Today is another sunny day in my corner, I hope it is in your corner too!

Have a golden day my friends,
Hugs,

Corner View: Favorite Fiction

If I were to write my own favorite fiction. I would live among the oak trees (more than I already do)
On a ranch with a cold running stream out back.
I would be able to communicate with the animals around me and dance with the trees and flowers.

I would have a magic wand to make all things right. There would be no wars, no weather catastrophes, no pain, no suffering or no tears only love, laughter, happiness and peace.  We would all live forever happily ever after.

Thank you Beth! To see more fiction visit Francesca's corner.

Have a golden day my friends!

P.S. I am having trouble with blogger, it won't let me leave comments on other blogs. It seems I am not the only one with this issues, so as soon as it is fixed I will be back to leave a comment.

Good Things Come In A Box

I love my box of organic vegetables and fruit I get every two weeks. The healthy box of goodies is not only good for us, but it gives me a chance to eat vegetables I haven't tried and to find a recipe for them.

Then there are times a box will arrive from across the bay of water that is not only good for the body, but good for the soul.

Francesca, knows my love for olive oil and how much I enjoy homemade gifts (inside the wrapped package was a beautiful handmade bird filled with lavender). Thank you my friend for all that you went through to make sure I receive the box, but most of all for your friendship.

Have a golden day my friends!

Pies, Rain And Friends

Last Sunday was cold, rainy and a good day to bake pies.

My sweet friends Mike (a.ka. the Pie Man) and Terrence came out to spend the day with me and to make Mike's favorite pie crust.  Mike's  little recipe can reminds of something my grandma had. We had so much fun, we didn't even notice the rain outside. We made a few pies and ate our way through a sugar high!

Between the  box of Ann Sather's cinnamon rolls (my favorite) they brought from the city,  pies from a local diner in town and a pie made by Terrence, I felt like one lump of sugar.

This weekend there will be no pies, just a bit of elbow grease.

Have a golden weekend my friends!

Corner View: Room

With this week's topic room, I thought about showing our slight remodeled bathroom, but I don't have the lights up yet and the famous "unpainted" office isn't finished.  I really think I need to lock myself in that little room and not come out till it is finished!

Well, my little brain got to thinking the word, room could stand for "room to grow", plus a room doesn't have to be indoors, it could be outdoors. Right? This adorable little sign is part of my room. It was made by Lyn with lynswan. You can see more of her beautiful art HERE.

So... with that being said my front porch (and garden) has become my room of late.

Forgive me, I had to show this photo of the same planter because if you look through the window, you can see Bo!
Remember my post from Monday, about my little bird cage planter? I have it sitting on this bench near our front door.
And well here is the full view of my front door (room)!

Thanks Cole for another fine topic. To see more views on room, stop by and visit Francesca's corner.

Have a golden day my friends!

Monday

Below is one of two containers I planted this weekend for our front door. I still need to think about the other twelve containers I need to fill.  This can be overwhelming for me, since I am not a gardener- I still call it yard work!
Did you have a good weekend? I had a full one without being too far away from home.  Starting off the weekend was a visit to the wine shop on Main Street, a cancer fund raiser on Saturday and a perfect rainy day at home making homemade pies with my friends Mike and Terrence.

I'm off to do a little work and continue to tackle my "to do" list.

Have a golden day!
Hugs,

Corner View: Motion

This week’s theme is motion, who better to show this theme other than Mr. Bojangles.

Give him a ball or some good news (continue reading) he spins, jumps and runs with excitement.

Last Wednesday, May 4th was Bo’s birthday. With our rescue pups in the past, we celebrated their birthdays the day they came home, so we continued this with Bo.  I can’t believe it has already been a year.  The photo above and below were taken the following day he came home.  He looks so thin compare to now!

To add to the celebration I received an email last Monday,  that he won a photo contest with In The Company Of Dogs. He is the May dog of the month on their website, HERE. They have some of the coolest things for our fur ball kids. He will receive a very nice gift card to buy either a couple of toys, or a new bed.

Hop on over to Francesca's corner to see more things in motion.  Thanks Cole for a great idea!

Have a golden day my friends!
Hugs,
Joyce

Things Are Coming Up...

and I need to do my part. I need to spend sometime in the garden
and clear away the old so these peonies can grow
while I'm in the garden. I will be dreaming of one of my favorite pies, rhubarb pie!
Even though Fall is my favorite season, I enjoy watching Spring come alive. I'm like a kid on Christmas morning going from one spot to another to see what is coming up and made it through the long cold winter months. Off to grab my gloves, rake, shovel, a bottle of water...

In the meantime my friends enjoy your day and make it a golden one!

Early Warm Wishes

...for my friends who have children. May your weekend be filled with happiness and your hearts bursting with love, as you celebrate this Sunday the joy of Mother's Day.
For my friends with a hole in their hearts on this day, may your day be filled with warmth and peace. If your day will be spending it with your mom, embrace and enjoy the moment.

Have a golden weekend my friends and Happy Mother's Day!

Corner View: By The Sea

Happy Wednesday and welcome to corner view! This week's topic is "by the sea", but
since I don't live near the sea would a bowl of treasures found on the sandy beaches count?

I bet you will see a beautiful view or two of the sea, if you stop by Francesca's corner to see the list of our sea world friends. Thanks Lise for a beautiful topic!

Have a golden day my friends!

The List Continues...

Hi! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Well... I didn't get everything on my list completed this weekend, but made a dent. I knew it was a tall list to complete and I love a challenge.
I managed to get the ceiling of my office painted. A curve ball was tossed when our microwave went out, so a reason to go shopping. Dinner with friends, two walks with Bo and Riley, yesterday. The weather was too beautiful and perfect to be indoors. I think by 9 P.M. we all were sleepy from all the fresh air. Hmmm... now I know why I still have things on my list, too much playing this weekend!

Off to another busy day, but first to the gym!

Have a golden day my friends!
Hugs,
