A Little Mustache With A Little Show N' Tell

This week’s corner view is the incredible, the mysterious mustache. I couldn’t think of too much for this topic so I tried one on Bo, to see how he would look. I am not sure if he liked it or not, but I think he looks cute. He managed to sit for a second while I snapped a photo of him. To see more about the mystery of mustaches, visit Jane to see the corner view list.

I know mustaches and show n' tell don't go hand in hand, but I thought I would share what  I have been doing during my time at home. I had some postcards printed with some of the photos I have taken and have been playing with some presentation ideas.
I decided on this one, keeping it simple adding either a tiny turquoise or a red stone and different wording. This one is called nature.

With the holidays around the corner they would make a great teacher or hostess gifts. I hope to have a couple added to my Etsy site in the next day or two.

Have a golden day my friends!

A New Twist On Mac & Cheese

I normally don’t read the newspaper or the small insert called relish magazinebut over the summer I read everything I could get my hands on. I came across this recipe and thought it was the perfect time to give this recipe a try with the weather getting cooler.
Beecher's World's Best Mac & Cheese
Ingredients
Sauce
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups whole milk
7 ounces Beecher’s Flagship cheese, or sharp Cheddar grated (about 1 3/4 cups)
1 ounce Beecher’s Just Jack cheese or Monterey Jack cheese , grated (1/4 cup)
½ teaspoon coarse salt
¼ to ½ teaspoon chipotle chili powder (I only used a dash, since I don’t like it too hot)
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
Pasta
6 ounces penne pasta (about 3 ¼ cups)
1 ounce (1/4 cup) Beecher’s Flagship cheese or sharp Cheddar, grated
1 ounce (1/4 cup) Beecher’s Just Jack cheese or Monterey Jack cheese, grated
¼ to ½ teaspoon chipotle chili powder
Instructions
1. To prepare sauce, melt butter in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Add flour. Cook, whisking constantly, 2 minutes.
2. Slowly add milk, whisking constantly. Cook until sauce thickens, about 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat.
3. Add cheese, salt, chili powder and garlic powder. Stir until cheese melts, about 3 minutes.
4. Preheat oven to 350F.
5. To prepare pasta, cook pasta 2 minutes less than package directions. (It will finish cooking in the oven.) Rinse pasta in cold water and drain well.
6. Combine pasta and sauce in a medium bowl; mix thoroughly. (The mixture will seem soupy, but some of the liquid will be absorbed during baking.) Transfer to an 8-inch square baking dish. Sprinkle top with cheese and chili powder.
7. Bake, uncovered, 20 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Serves 4.

Have a golden day my friends!

A Little Bug

No not the famous bedbug, but another kind was trying to attack my little corner here, but all is well and safe again.  I hear this nasty bug is just as bad as the bedbug and has been trying to make his way onto other blogs too.
So… after some cleaning up, I made a couple of changes here and decided to remove my blog list. Don’t worry my sweet friends, I am still visiting and making my rounds to  each of your corners, via google reader. I cannot believe I haven’t used google reader before, it is easy, fast and I love it! Thanks Francesca

Oh and by the way, don't you think my little ladybug looks cuter than a bedbug?

Have a golden weekend my friends!!

A Breathtaking Moment

The other night I saw the most beautiful sunset. It was a so amazing and a wonderful reminder of how good life is and all that I am thankful for in my daily life.

I hope your day is as golden my friends!

Feeling A Bit Like Rip Van Winkle

I feel like I slept the whole summer away...
but happy I woke up just in time, to enjoy my favorite season. The weather is getting cooler and I started to notice on some of the trees the leaves are starting to change colors. Are the leaves changing colors in your corner?

Have a golden day my friends!
