Corner View: White

The color white has been associated with purity, cleanliness, innocence, softness etc… I like to think of white as a blank canvas, a backdrop to create beauty.
I didn't have enough room to list all of my favorite white things that add a smile to my day, but have a few to share.
I adore this little plate made by Whitney Smith There is something magical in the simplicity of the plate.

I like this pillow so much I have two! It is fun to play with the fringe and soft to lay back on in front of the fireplace.
Another favorite is this beautiful white glass bowl. I received as a gift for my 50th from a very special friend, Edna.
I like how the inside of the bowl swirls, bringing the eye further into the center of the bowl.
And this little sweet flower/weed reminds me of my youth. I would close my eyes, make a wish and blow the feathery petals, hoping my dreams would come true.

If you would like to see more white visit our corner view friends posts today. They are listed on my blog roll under "corner view".
Have a golden day!

Hugs,

P.S A few had a question in my last post about the horseshoe area. At our local park there is an area designated for people to play a game of horseshoe, to prevent anyone from getting hurt as one toss the heavy horseshoe. If you want to read more about this game, read it here. HERE . I hope this answers your questions.

Kids Say The Darnest Thing

While Kelly and I were at the park a couple of weeks ago, I took this photo. It makes me laugh everytime I see it.
There were a couple boys around 7ish playing on the swing. They saw Kelly and came running up to us asking if they could touch her.
After awhile, one of the boys saw the horseshoe area. He ran over and started playing in the dirt/sand. His little buddy was still petting Kelly, when all of a sudden his eyes got as big as saucers. I looked and asked if he was OK. All I heard was "oh, oh". I asked, again if he was OK. Again all I heard oh, oh and finally after the lonnnng oooh... he said, "he is digging up all the dead people!" As I was trying my hardest not laugh, I reassured him that this was the horsehoe area and that I could see how he would think different.
Don't you enjoy seeing things through the eyes of little ones?
Have a golden day!

Corner View: Out The Car Window

When I saw this week's theme for corner view, I thought I better ask for Gary's assistance.

I did a little bribery and asked, if he would drive while I took some photos, I would buy lunch at the new Sonic Drive-In.

This place has been hopping like a field of grasshoppers since their grand opening.

We have eaten at the Sonic in Texas when we visit, so I was thrilled when they opened up a place in our neck of the woods. I love their grilled cheese sandwiches.

Sonic is a fast food restaurant chain, that recreates the drive-in diner feel of the 1950s. They are based in Oklahoma City.

The carhops bring your food to your car on either roller skates or rollerblades. Oh, oh... I wonder how they are going to do this during our winters.

It looks like we are not the only ones enjoying the new place, but our four-legged friends are too!

If you are up for another car ride or two, grab a seat next to Kelly, our pup and we will drive on over to see what our corner view friends are seeing out their car windows. The corner view blog roll is on your right side of the screen, just scroll down a bit.

Have a golden day!
Hugs,

xoxo

P.S. I still owe Gary a lunch, I forgot to bring my purse!

Corner View: September

Welcome back to Corner View! Thanks Jane for a fabulous idea that gives us a peak into other corners of the world!

A perfect theme for me, since this is the beginning of my favorite time of year.
I love how nature is slowly getting ready to settle down for the winter months ahead.
As some of the trees start to wear their coats of many colors
Some are already letting go...
While others are still providing to the animals who depend on them
As they wait patiently for their wealth to fall

I wait quietly from afar as the sun goes down for the deer and their young ones to come out.

I love to set back and enjoy the glowing vibrant colors of the season
If you would enjoy seeing more of September please stop by and visit other corners of the world. I listed all of our corner view friends on the blog roll under "corner view". If I am missing someone on the list please let me know.
Can you believe all the shades of color I saw in one day?!
I hope your day is as golden my friends!

xoxo
