In A Matter Of Hours

We went to bed with our trees looking like this Saturday night

To waking up Sunday morning to this!

It was pretty to see so much snow on the trees...

but in the same breathe a little scary. It reminded me of something out of the ice age.

Trees surround our home, but due to the heaviness of the snow, the trees were hugging our home.

The view from almost all of our windows.

This big tree branch was inches away from the patio door. The funny thing is we don't even have a tree near the patio door! By the time I reach for my camera bag, in a matter of seconds the same branch above went to this.

Over all there were four large branches that fell. Thank you God it wasn't any trees on the house.

You can imagine with this much ice snow, we were left without electricity from around 3:00 a.m. to around 7:30 p.m.

A warm fire and lots of blankets to keep us warm. Miss Kelly even wore one of her jackets around the house to keep her warm. Thank goodness we have a gas stovetop to make a cup of hot cocoa.

My dear friends, please bare with me to catch my breathe and visit your blogs. This also happens to be a busy week of work for me too.

And winter slumbering
In the open air
Wears on he his face
A dream of spring

Oh Joyce~ not fun and it's actually SPRING. Rest easy and we'll be right here awaiting your return. At this time of year the snow melts quickly. Your fire looks very cozy and comforting.

It's cold here today and there is always the possibility of one more snowfall before we are truly into April...I see your photos and realize, yes, that could still happen here...but I hope it doesn't! Thankfully nothing hit your house!!

No matter what month, there is something calming, and enveloping when surrounded by a blanket of white, and then when the power is out - time seems to stop. I know you will show us Spring...soon~

It doesn't go unnoticed that something so scary is oh so beautiful. Glad those trees didn't come down differently. You certainly took Earth Hour to the next level.

Oh, my - I hope that it melts quickly. I'm so glad a tree or heavy branches didn't fall on your house. I hope you have a good week, dear friend. :)

Wow that is crazy, sorry you froze you butts off! Poor tree...spring storms are certainly hard on the trees and plants. Have a great week try not to work too hard.

Luckily, the only inconvenient thing was that you lost power. Trees heavily laden with that much snow can sometimes be intimidating. However, with that said, your photos are beautiful. You can hear the quiet of the snow as it blankets the trees. You made the best of it, as seen in the glowing fire.

Oh MY!! I thought our hail storm last night was bad. But I have to say...your snowy pictures look beautiful. I love it on a ski slope...but I have to say, I am DONE for the winter already! Spring, please.

Quite the spring we all seem to be having this year! It was ch-ch-chilly at the Sand Point Antique & Design Market, but there were lots of brave shoppers. If you see something on blogs for the show, you can always contact the identified bloggers and ask if an item is still available! Thanks for your nice comments on mimicharmante!
